Mitchell represents Montecito, a luxury townhome community in the Biltmore area in Phoenix, and Envy Residences, a luxury condo community in the heart of Scottsdale. "We also consider a community walkable if you can hop on a bike to get to places you want to go or if it's near a light-rail station," he said. "We have found that our buyers are looking for walkability because they are looking to be in their cars less and outside more," Vos said. "As they plan for retirement, they would like to be in a vibrant part of town that allows them to walk to many places such as the greenbelt or the Scottsdale Civic Center Park."

Les Brun and his former wife Marcie Kennedy spent three years building this home in Scottsdale, Ariz. ‘The house was intended to be our personal resort,’ says Mr. Brun, noting that the home includes a steam room, gym, game room, wine cellar, pool and tennis court.
They found the 2.5-acre parcel in 2001 and were attracted to the views and the privacy. ‘We spent about a year looking for the dirt and spent another year thinking about building the house,’ says Mr. Brun, a private investor. While they were thinking, Mr. Brun struck up a conversation one day with someone at a car wash. That someone turned out to be Bing Hu, the architect behind the homes that Ms. Kennedy had bookmarked in magazines. They hired him within the month.
Mr. Brun, who was born in Haiti and grew up in New York City, has been ‘a car guy’ his entire life. ‘Since I was five years old I can remember identifying what went by my parents’ window.’ The home also has an eight-car garage with a lift, air hoses and a full set of tools, which Mr. Brun calls the working garage, in addition to a two-car garage.

Paul Ray Geiger Jr. spent about $600,000 to build this 2,500-square-foot building dedicated to his family’s hunting trophies on their roughly 14-acre property in Richmond, Texas. A 52-year-old designer of offshore oil rigs and a lifelong hunting enthusiast, Mr. Geiger said he aimed for a “clean, minimalist” look for the space, with exposed wood beams and white walls to better highlight the trophies. There are over 100 recessed lights in the ceiling to illuminate the animals.
Top AZ Realtor releases new software to help real estate agents

Local real estate agent Jason Mitchell has developed a new customer relationship management software for real estate agents.
Mitchell, president and founder of Scottsdale-based Jason Mitchell Group by My Home Group, said he used his Shabang CRM software to take his company from $15 million to $142 million in just three years.
Now, Mitchell has spun out his in-house software into a separate company with six employees and is offering it to other agents on a plug-and-play level.
